{written 5/30 and lost somewhere in the draft folder...}
You can tell Elijah's not here...because I'm being bad and staying up late doing...NOTHING! :) He's such an early to bed guy we're rarely up past 10:30. But it's 11:40 and I'm hanging out in bed with the laptop. He left this afternoon for the third part of Washington's Caucus...As I'm sure a lot of you know he has been super active in the election process this year, is a precinct leader and was selected to go to county and then the state caucus as a delegate. He won't say this but I'm pretty sure he secretly wants to go to the National Convention...my crazy politicking boy. Anyway, he'll be gone until late Saturday doing whatever it is delegates get to do all weekend. After a hectic day I got the kids down and then laid on the couch watching Ace of Cakes, and now I'm randomly checking things out online. Like...
- I'm planning on trying a new whole wheat bread recipe on Saturday, and I decided I wanted to try and braid it like Challah, because I think Challah is so pretty. Well, of course it's not good enough to braid three or four strands, I needed to figure out a way to braid SIX. 'Cause it looks so much cooler. And thanks to the internet I quickly found a video here on how to do that. And the Challah recipe I linked to a few lines above is really good if you're looking to try a new fun recipe. Makes AWESOME french toast the next day too!
- The boys are getting new computers from their school next fall, and I've been checking these ones out for awhile...over the holidays I saw commercials saying if you bought one for yourself they would send one to a child in a developing country. But right after Christmas I never heard anything else about them, and now when you go to their website they just talk about all the nice things they have on their great computer but there's no way to buy them. In fact, after searching a little further it appears that no one can buy them anywhere. What's the deal with this company? You can buy used ones on Ebay, but I can't find a way to buy two new ones. Hmmm...not loving that.
- We are getting rid of our Dish network in a few days and someone sent me a link to this site to watch your favorite missed episodes of certain shows. Luckily for me I'm not hooked into any particular shows at the present time, but occasionally it's nice to just sit down and veg in front of a show from time to time, and this looks like a cool option.
A boy is calling me...be back later.
